For a roast dinner that tastes succulent and delicious, use a Bakewell oven bag and follow the steps below:
Preheat your oven to the required temperature.
Place the Bakewell oven bag into a roasting tray.
Turn down the ends of the bag several times to help hold the bag open for when you place the food inside.
Place the prepared vegetables into the bag. We recommend classic onions, potatoes, carrots and parsnips, or for a more Mediterranean style roast why not add red onions, peppers garlic and lemon.
Prepare your chicken, adding seasoning and stuffing if required. We recommend adding a small amount of ground salt on the top of the chicken to help it produce a lovely crispy skin. Also why not try putting thin slices of garlic under the skin of the chicken to give extra flavour.
Place the meat into the bag with one side seam of the bag facing upwards.
Close the bag loosely with one of the ties provided.
Cut off the top corner of the bag using a scissors.
Make sure the bag is positioned neatly in the tray ensuring it doesn’t touch the oven sides or heating element.
Place in the middle of the oven and cook for the required time. (remember it may cook up to 10% quicker in an oven bag).
After removing the bag from the oven let it stand for 10 minutes. Cut the bag open with a knife or scissors, being cautious with the hot steam escaping.
