Baked fillet steak

Preheat oven to gas mark 6 / 200*C / 400F.

Cover steak with oil or butter and season with salt and pepper.

Line baking tray with Bakewell baking paper.

Put steak on baking tray and put in the middle of the oven for approximately 30 minutes.

Using a meat thermometer check the temperature of the meat. For a well done steak it should be 160F / 71*C, For medium rare it should be 130F / 54*C /, For rare it should be 120F / 48*C.

Remove steak from oven and leave it to settle for 5 minutes.

We recommend serving with peppercorn sauce, seasonal vegetables and creamy mash 🙂
