1
Prepare apples by peeling, coring and thinly slicing.
2
In a bowl mix half a teaspoon of cinnamon to the apples with 3 tablespoons of flour. When apples are covered evenly add them to a frozen 9″pie shell.
3
In a bowl using your hands knead 114 grams of sugar, 114 grams of flour and 114 grams or margarine into a soft dough.
4
Break off parts of the dough into smaller pieces, flattening each section and place them on top of apple mixture (It is not necessary to cover the entire apple mixture).
5
Insert several wooden skewers (around 3/4 inches tall) inside the pie which will ensure the cooking bag does not touch the top of pie whilst baking.
6
Preheat your oven to gas mark 6 or 200 degrees Celsius. Place pie in oven bag (we recommend using a Large Bakewell oven bag) and close the bag using the tie provided. Cut the corner of the bag carefully using a scissors to let steam escape.
7
Place bag on roasting tray and place in the middle of the oven, making sure the bag doesn’t touch the oven walls or heating element. Bake pie for 1 hour 15 minutes or until the top of the pie is a golden brown colour.
8
Remove from oven and carefully cut bag open. Remove the pie and place on wire rack to cool
9
We recommend serving with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
